Where’s Best to Buy Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance?

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is released in the UK is just over three weeks, so we thought it’d be a good idea to give you the complete pre-order rundown regarding which UK retailer is best to secure your copy from.

Thankfully Konami are keeping things simple for Platinum Games’ action-packed release, with only two different editions available at launch and they shown below:

Now we know what you’re thinking; ‘Wow a Limited Edition for Metal Gear Rising? That’s awesome I’m going to put my money down right away!’

Sure this rendition of Raiden is nice, but is it worth spending £60 extra?

Wait just a second there sparky. The Limited Edition, which is exclusive to Zavvi, includes just three items – the game itself, exclusive ‘White Armor’ DLC and a poseable 7 inch figure of Raiden by PlayArts. Priced at a whopping £99.99, this set will cause some gamers to scoff in disapproval, but this figure is being sold separately, albeit not in its white armour, for £59.99 via Forbidden Planet so the price-tag isn’t as absurd as it initially appears. This set is still something which will appear to super fans only though, so think carefully about how much you’re willing to spend on a poseable figurine before plonking your money down.

The regular edition of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is also a tricky proposition to weigh up, as there’s three bits of free DLC and other bonuses to weigh up. If physical incentives are your thing, then GAME will probably prove the most attractive as they’re offering a decorated steel case with every order of the game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for £37.99, along with a code to download the ‘Raiden Inferno Armour’ DLC.

This skin is known as both 'Cyber' and 'Grey Fox', but it seems as though on certain retailers are offering it as a pre-order bonus.

If you think that’s a little on the expensive side then you’ll probably want to stay away from Gamestop who are charging only 2p less than the RRP of £39.99, but you do get the Grey Fox DLC for free. Now here is where it gets really interesting, some retailers are referring to the Grey Fox DLC as the Cyborg skin or something of that ilk, but it’s all actually the same content.

If you want to secure the Ninja/Grey Fox skin for the cheapest price, then Zavvi are your best bet as their are only charging £34.95 for Revengeance on either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Last but not least, if you simply want to spend the least amount of money possible on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and not worry about pre-order bonuses, then we recommend going with GreenManGaming as they’re charging only £32.95 for the game, and you get free 2nd class postage. Not bad, eh?

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 22nd in the UK.
