Where’s best to buy Crysis 3?

With only seven days until Crysis 3 is released in the UK, it’s fair to say that lots of gamers out there are wondering which retailer is offering the best pre-order bonus or the best deal regarding Crytek’s highly anticipated first-person sequel. Is it better to spend a little more and bag the best bundled DLC on offer, or is it better to just go with the cheapest retailer? Handily we can help with that conundrum in this detailed article, which investigates what editions of Crysis 3 are available, which retailer is offering what bonuses with each pre-order and who is offering the game atthe cheapest price. So don’t place your money down quite yet, as we can help you bag a bargain!

Despite being a fairly big release on the calendar there isn’t a collector’s edition for Crysis 3, instead only two different editions are being offered in the UK, The Hunter Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Do you want this bow? It's included in every Hunter Edition.

Do you want this bow? It’s included in every Hunter Edition.

The Hunter Edition has a recommended retail price of £39.99 for consoles and £34.99 for PC and includes the following bonuses:

  • Early access to the new signature Crysis 3 bow, bow attachment, and “Hunter” Nanosuit module for use in Crysis 3 Multiplayer.
  • Multiplayer Head Start: Get a bonus XP boost up to Level 5 and gain the ability to unlock custom loadouts early.
  • Unique bow skin and three exclusive “Hunter” themed dog tags.

Granted these aren’t the fanciest bonuses in the world, but then seeing as this is the default edition of Crysis 3 it’s hard to complain too much. The cheapest price for this edition comes via GreenManGaming who is offering both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions for only £33.99, and the PC version is available for the cheapest via Zavvi who are only asking for £29.95.

Most of the pre-order bonuses revolve around multiplayer and competitive play.

With regards to pre-order bonuses for Crysis 3: Hunter Edition, GAME is undoutedly offering the best deal as you not only get the game with every pre-order, you also get a free code to download Crysis 1 for whichever platform you order Crysis 3 for, The Stalker Pack which includes early access to Jackal shotgun, two exclusive dog tags, silencer attachment and custom skin for said weapon and finally three free games for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch which are Need for Speed Most Wanted, FIFA 13 and Mass Effect Infiltration.

Now in all order to get all these bonuses you do have to pay slightly over the retailer average, with the console versions priced at £42.99 whereas the PC is only £34.99, but if you own an Apple platform, this offering could be right up your street.

The only other edition available to UK gamers is the Crysis 3: Digital Deluxe Edition which is exclusive to EA’s own digital games provider, Origin. Again you’ll have to pay over the odds to get this content, with the PC version available for £54.99 but you do get a copy of Crysis 2: Maximum Overkill, all Hunter Edition bonus multiplayer packs (Overkill, Brawler, and Stalker), day one access to the powerful Gauss Rifle weapon, early Explosive Arrow unlock, exclusive suit skin and our personal favourite Crysis 3′s official 30-track long soundtrack. Again this set is expensive, but if you love all things Crysis, it’s the only way to bag every pre-order bonus out there. We have no idea why the original Crysis isn’t included in this set, but oh well.

Crysis 3 is released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Friday, February 22nd, so get those pre-order fingers a-clicking!
