If we were only referring to physical in-store game releases, then frankly this would be a very dissapointing week in the gaming calendar. Thankfully two notable digital releases are carrying our hopes and dreams; a cute platformer known as The Cave and a retro space-sim dubbed, Strike Suit Zero.
First though, let’s get the physical releases out of the way…We only have two releases in stores this week, both of which are as close to ‘shovelware‘ as you can probably get. The first is the Kinect-only title Power Rangers: Super Samurai from Namco Bandai and the second is Brain Training 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.
There aren’t any pre-order bonuses for either title so if you feel like you need to test your grey matter or are inclined to get your mitts on Lord Zedd’s ‘Z’ Staff, be sure to check out both product page links below to get the best price on each respective game:
Interestingly only GAME has a product page for Brain Training 3D, so if you want that handheld release your options are extremely limited.
Thankfully where physical retailers are faltering, digital stores are picking up the slack with two fantastic releases; The Cave and Strike Suit Zero.
The Cave comes from the mind of Ron Gilbert and features seven adventurers exploring a mysterious underground labyrinth for fame and fortune. This download-only release is available from Xbox Live, PSN and Steam.
Strike Suit Zero on the other hand is a PC-exclusive and features classic space sim gameplay with the starring spacecraft boasting the impressive ability to transform from a regular spaceship into a giant gun-touting mech at a touch of a button. To find out where’s best to snap up this digital wonders, check out the respective product pages below:
Next week will be much more promising with February bringing a ton of releases including Omerta: City of Gangsters, Ni No Kuni, Wreck-It Ralph and Hitman HD Collection so if you want to get a head start on those pre-orders, check out their pages below.
So long January, it’s been fun but February is where the gaming action will really kick off!
