Games Hitting UK Stores This Week, Starring Ni No Kuni

It seems as though we’ve been talking about Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for seemingly ages at this point thanks to Level 5′s JRPG being so well reviewed earlier this month, but there are still plenty of other new releases heading to UK retail this Friday.

In fact this week represents the busiest of 2013 thus far, with Omerta: City of Gangsters and Hitman HD Collection heading to stores in addition to Ni No Kuni.

Ni No Kuni is undoubtedly the prettiest game releases in 2013 thus far.

To find out which retailer is offering each respective release at the cheapest price or with the best pre-order bonus, check out the dedicated product pages below:

- Omerta: City of Gangsters

- Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Regular

- Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – The Wizard’s Edition

- Hitman HD Collection

Omerta comes from Haemimont Games, the makers of the beloved dictator sim Tropico 3, and offers players the chance to run their own gangster operation in Atlantic City during the 1930s. Gameplay is a mix between grand strategy and turn-based combat, with players controlling their hoodlums in grand shootouts as well as day-to-day operations; extorting businesses, ruffing up rivals and trying to hid from the police. This release is one of the few strategy games to arrive both on PC and Xbox 360, so it’ll be very interesting to see how many console gamers it can attract with its strategy charms. There are no pre-order bonuses associated with Omerta: City of Gangsters, so just go with the retailer you think is charging the fairest price.

Omerta certainly isn't for everyone, but if you like strategy with a historical focus you'd do well to check it out.

With regards to Ni No Kuni, we’ve already written an extensive run down of the best pre-order options in a big article linked here, so check that out if you’d like to learn more about where is best to put your money down.

Last but not least we have the Hitman HD Collection for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Like many compilations, there aren’t any specific pre-order bonuses for this game, but it’s still worthwhile to check out which retailer is offering the HD collection at the cheapest price. Included in this set are Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money. Now it’s a shame that the original Hitman isn’t getting a refresh, but if we’re honest Blood Money is by far the best game in the series, so this set is still worth a look.

Every Monday we count down the week’s big releases, so be sure to check back next week for another round-up.
