Games Hitting UK Stores This Week, Starring Crysis 3

Spring is here folks! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the kids are off school for half term holidays. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing we’ll leave up to you, but on the games front this is a good thing as we have a trio of significant releases heading to UK retail this week.

If you don't pre-order Crysis 3, Psycho won't be best pleased.

First and foremost is Crysis 3. Crytek’s visually stunning sequel is a must for all first-person shooter fans thanks to its nanosuit-empowered gameplay and compelling single-player narrative. Thousands of gamers are currently taking part in this shooter’s open multiplayer beta and the impressions are fairly positive, so on the multiplayer front it seems Crytek have potential players covered as well.

We examined all of the pre-order bonuses and special editions on offer last week, so if you’ve yet to snap up this title we recommend checking out the detailed article, linked here. Crysis 3 is out tomorrow, so if you want to have it appear at your door sooner rather than later we suggest getting a pre-order down ASAP.

Revengeance is sure to be as mellodramatic as it's beautiful.

The second big title heading to retail this week is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Now the silly name might clue you in to this title’s Eastern roots, but don’t let that put you off. MGR’s developers, Platinum Games, are some of the most talented folks in the entire games industry when it comes to implementing imaginative plots and thrilling third-person gameplay.

The studio previously developed such critically acclaimed releases as Bayonetta, Vanquish, MadWorld and Anarchy Reigns so expectations are very high regarding this release. Again we’ve already penned our thoughts on which retailer is offering the best price/pre-order bonus and you can search out that information here.

Last but not least we have Persona 4: Golden which is exclusive to the PlayStation Vita. This JRPG remake has been out in North America for a while and there doesn’t seem to be much advertising supporting this release. Prices vary between each retailer, check them out here, but GAME are offering a nifty bonus with every pre-order in the guise of some kooky Persona 4 themed pin-badges.

Obviously this option isn’t worth paying extra for, but it’s a nice bonus for the thousands of Persona fans out there.
